Social Care

The Social Care programme has now been transferred to the Department of Health Social Care Team in the East of England.

The purpose of the Department of Health Social Care Programme in the East of England is to foster improvement, development and innovation in social care practice.  It supports the wider aim of improving the health and well-being of the whole population, and aims to:

  • Coordinate, challenge, support and accelerate the drive for transformation of adult social care.
  • Provide support in partnership with wider local government, health services and people who use services and their carers 
  • Work in ways which deliver personalised support that is excellent value for money, of the best quality and more efficiently delivered.

The main areas of work of the Department of Health Social Care programme in the East of England are:

  • Commissioning and Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JNSA)
  • Older People and Care Services Programme:
  • - Dementia and Long Term Conditions
  • - Dignity and safeguarding (including ‘No Secrets’)
  • Putting People First (personalisation and prevention)
  • Regional Presence (place based support, policy and strategy delivery)
  • Social Care Performance, Improvement and Efficiency
  • Valuing People Now
