Wellbeing report
Wellbeing questionnaire
We conducted a brief survey by stopping passers-by in Colchester Town Centre on 5th May 2007 to create a picture of people's understanding of ‘mental wellbeing' and ‘feeling good' and the activities people use on an ordinary, everyday basis to support their mental health and well-being.
We interviewed 152 adults visiting Colchester town centre on a bank holiday Saturday in May. The sample ranged across age, gender, and ethnic group, provides a representative sample of the permanent area population (although the statistical analysis is limited to the sample for the sake of this report).
We intended to explore the perceptions of wellbeing among ordinary people, and collect examples of the language used, and understanding of causal relationships. We did not set out to alter understanding or to affect behaviour.
